Every other month, on the last Sunday, tap dancers find their way to Gigi’s Bar Hoxton in London for a night of tapping and jamming and dancing and singing. It’s the night of the London Tap Jam, hosted by the amazing tapper Lee Payne.
Anybody who likes to dance or perform can do so. A live band, the Michele Drees Trio, is ready to improvise and support whoever is on stage. Since this is a jam, nobody ever really knows what’s going to happen but given the positive feedback, the audience and dancers seem to generally enjoy the show that the team and Lee are putting on.
During this last event, I took some video clips and edited a few of them together. This is what came out of it:
And obviously, I couldn’t help myself to take some photos as well.
If you want to see more of this, have a look at my last blog post about the London Tap Jam from summer, visit the London Tap Jam website or – even better – come by next time. The next one happens on March 29, in Gigi’s Bar Hoxton in Shoreditch, London.
